Build Lab
Segmento Urbano will host the second edition of the Build Lab – School of Construction Training on October 3 and 4, 2025, in Paços de Ferreira. This initiative was created to address a structural gap in the sector: the lack of accessible, practical, and certified technical training for new professionals in construction.
This edition will be dedicated to Basic Construction Techniques and will feature modules such as bricklaying, roof waterproofing with Neotex PU systems, and steel bending with structural project reading. The program is still under development and may include additional modules and practical experiences.
The Build Lab positions itself as a practical school in a real construction site, with the purpose of training qualified workers, accelerating professional integration, and contributing to the recognition of construction-related professions. The training will take place at the Porta do Vale construction site, in an intensive two-day format that combines theory and practice.
Participation is free, hands-on, and certified. The teaching team includes professionals from Segmento Urbano and guest experts from the industry, including representatives from Neotex Portugal, a European leader in waterproofing solutions. All participants will receive a certificate of completion and will have the opportunity to apply for internship grants at Segmento Urbano.
The Build Lab already counts on the partnership of Neotex Portugal and the support of AICCOPN – Portuguese Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries, while new institutional and academic partners are being integrated and will be announced soon.
Registration is open to the general public, with a particular focus on newcomers and those interested in entering the construction industry. Seats are limited, and registration is mandatory.
