ArchDaily features “C Spot”, Segmento Urbano’s World Architecture Festival proposal

ArchDaily featured C Spot, a project developed by Segmento Urbano and shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival, highlighting its response to the social and infrastructural challenges faced by underserved communities in Angola.

Conceived as more than a school, C Spot proposes a network of community spaces designed to support education, social connection, and collective development. The modular structures were designed to be affordable, portable, easy to assemble, and capable of operating in locations without access to water or electricity.

The project combines open, shaded areas for learning and community gatherings with enclosed support spaces. Rainwater collection, natural ventilation, water reuse, and locally available materials allow each unit to function autonomously while responding to Angola’s climate and construction context.

Designed as both a meeting place and an “urban magnet”, C Spot reflects an architecture in which environmental responsibility and social purpose become part of the same response.
